How will your continued support and donations help us to continue helping the Haitian people?.
As I'm sure you have gathered from other sections of this site, we have been in contact with so many good people and companies that have donated their time, skills, contacts and a tremendous amount of medical / surgical supplies and equipment.
We have been able to gather upwards of $600,000.00 in donated supplies and equipment which has been arriving at our offices / warehouse on an almost daily basis with much more still to come. For this we owe a huge thanks to all the companies, local and far, who with sometimes not more that a phone call and a thanks, began gathering anything and everything they had that could help bring better care to the Haitian people and started dropping it off to us.
Now here's where your continued help comes in by using the PayPal buttons to the left.
Although we have collected so much medical / surgical supplies and equipment, there are still some things that have to be purchased. As an example, we talked to everyone we know and they talked to everyone they know and we still couldn't come up with a sterilization machine to take to Haiti to take a load off the one machine being shared between three hospitals. We were finally able to find one and buy it at the sellers cost. We got it on it's way to Florida yesterday, it arrived in Haiti today via our company owned jet and just in time because the one there in Haiti gave up it's last breath two days ago.
Fuel for both the jet and twin turbo-prop aircraft we own and have been using to get these supplies and the medical professionals to Haiti and back, is an extremely costly endeavor and we will continue as longs as we can but it is not sustainable without some monetary assistance to help defray some of the costs involved in an endeavor such as this. There are also additional pieces of equipment that need to be purchased such as two or three portable x-ray machines and another autoclave or two so instruments being used in surgery can be sterilized as quickly as possible for use on another patient. Without it, the risk of infection during surgery skyrockets to the point of the surgery not being done.
Rest assured that as a 501 (c) (3) organization, your donations whether it be monetary or goods, it will all go to Haiti and to help support the mission to get it all there and in the hands of the people that really need it.
Again, we say a heartfelt thank you to you all.
